the music dope
Things I don’t like:
- honestly, not the style of music I generally enjoy.
- At times it seems it be weird for the sake of being weird.
- At times, it seems exactly like the kind of album that indie critics will fawn over. Kind of like the middling PJ Harvey albums that critics gave a pass to.
As I mentioned previously, if this album is so great, I’d love to see the iTunes play counts of all the critics who voted it number one. If it’s the album of the year, those critics listened to it most, right? Oh wait, that’s another argument entirely.
P.S. I will readily admit that I hate the way the band name uses annoying capitalization, but that’s not the reason I think that this album isn’t even one of the ten best of the year.
P.P.S. I was an indie music writer for a dozen years or more, so I know the vibe.
For those of you who saw Tune-Yards’ whokill win the critics’ poll and went “ugggggghhhhh,” what is it that you don’t like about the album (or the artist)? I’m honestly not trolling here, I promise! I love the album (it was my #1), but I understand that her election as President Of Music doesn’t…

Ol’ marathonpacks is lightly trolling (Only lightly!) for objections to Tune-Yards on the occasion
